WHAT IS YOUR ROLE?

“I have various roles within our team, but I’m also the one to go to regarding the devising and organising of events. In its widest sense. This can be an event for 400 employees, a two-day event for the whole staff, an international convention, or an opening event for a new building. The projects are very diverse. Together with our people in our team, I make sure that everything is organised perfectly, that the client doesn’t need to worry about anything on the day itself, and especially that the event has an impact. We spend a lot of time and effort in making the programme. Strong in terms of content and an event that you will remember!”

HOW DO YOU MAKE IT MATTER?

“Make it Memorable” is my motto. In my private life, and also businesslike. Every event has a kind of basic programme that is important for the brand and/or organisation. We try to make this take shape by implementing a good flow and a lot of interactivity. But next to it being strong in terms of content the event also needs to have a wow-factor. When you leave you need to have felt that you experienced something unique. Something that you won’t forget, that is memorable.

One example of this is an event we had at the beginning of this year. It was an international two-day event on the beach with 125 people where the three-headed board of a big brand suddenly undressed and revealed a wetsuit under their clothes. They dived into the (ice-cold!) sea and tried to urge their employees to do the same. There were wetsuits available for all of them and ultimately there were around 100 people in the water the next morning. Everybody will remember this in 10 years. The important messages of such a gathering will therefore also be more memorable.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON AT THE MOMENT

“As a result of COVID-19, events are looked at differently now. It is impossible to meet each other physically. However, every limitation is also a chance. Together with a partner we immediately structured the virtual event. At the moment I’m shaping international virtual events together with a small team. We just successfully finished a gathering where we brought together people from Amsterdam, London, and New York. A congress with participants from the Netherlands and India is now in line. The technical part is time-consuming, as it has to work smoothly, but here too most of my time is put into the conceptual added value. Those few unique sparkles that make is so impressive and unforgettable.
