What: Front-end developer
What is your role?
‘I’m a front-end developer with a background in user interface design. Both for new sites as well as sites that already exist. When I’m working on a new site I integrate a UI/UX (User Experience) design by programming user-friendly codes. By doing so I make sure that the site is working, no matter the browser that is being used. With the ease of use as the main target, whilst also accounting for good findability.
Maintaining and improving websites is an ongoing process. Partly due to the desires of the clients and partly due to continuously changing technologies. Websites are developed using set standards, which makes it easier to maintain them in the future. That is why I’m familiar with WordPress Codex, HubL Syntax for HubSpot Development and all that comes with HTML e-mails. All to make the (communication) work easier for others.’
How do you make it matter?
‘Technology is constantly changing and it is very important, especially in my profession, to welcome those technologies with open arms. With new requirements comes more technological expertise. For that reason, I’m always keeping up with the latest trends when it comes to programming languages. By doing so I’m constantly improving myself. I do this by taking part in MeetUps and expert groups. I’m currently busy with ReactJS, which is a JS framework, that is often used because of its versatility.’
What are you working on at the moment?
‘Most of the websites made by us are made using WordPress. This enables us to design a better user experience for the sites users and the client. We keep everything up-to-date to make sure the website is safe and remains safe. Next to that, I’m also drawing up a lot of e-mailings. These are used for invites for virtual events, that we develop for our clients.
Besides that, we are also working on a starting theme for the optimal WordPress website. It facilitates a tailor-made theme that suits the desires of our clients. To easily implement new features and functionalities we do so from a structured and SEO friendly basis.’
